The all-purpose guide on Kinesis Labs, the premier stableswap on Evmos.

What is Kinesis?

Kinesis is the official native stableswap of Evmos, providing users with the lowest slippage when swapping stablecoins. Kinesis will host multiple base pools consisting of various bridged stablecoins where users can easily swap between stablecoins, bridges, and ecosystems. Through Kinesis, stablecoin interoperability can occur in the Evmos ecosystem. Kinesis will become the exchange hub for multichain assets, wrapped IBC assets, and all stablecoins from various chains and ecosystems.

Kinesis enables efficient, swift, and low-slippage swaps for traders and high-yield for liquidity providers. We believe in collaboration, in maximizing the interoperability of Kinesis, and in building the foundation for a stablecoin ecosystem for Cosmos.

Where do I start?

Head over to https://kinesislabs.co to get started!

If you want to learn more about the project, click the docs. If you want to begin providing liquidity or swapping stablecoins, click enter the app.

Using Kinesis:

The Kinesis app is on https://app.kinesislabs.co. Double check to make sure you are on this website! In the future, there might be scam websites that have similar domains as kinesislabs.co.

Download Metamask:

Use the official MetaMask site at https://metamask.io/download/.

No one from the Kinesis Labs team will ever ask you for your seed phrase or private key. If anyone or any website is asking for it, it is a scam!

Connecting your Wallet:

If you haven’t used Evmos mainnet before, you can go to https://chainlist.org to add the network to your MetaMask.

Search Evmos in the search bar and click Connect Wallet and confirm the MetaMask popup notification.

Now that you have successfully added Evmos to your MetaMask, you can head over to https://app.kinesislabs.co!

Connecting Wallet:

To begin, click connect wallet to see the connect wallet popup. At launch, you will only see MetaMask, but we will begin to integrate Keplr and other wallets as soon as they enable compatibility with the Evmos EVM.

Click the MetaMask icon on your extensions tab if nothing pops up. Connect your wallet and switch your network to Evmos if you haven’t already!

Click “Switch to Evmos Mainnet” to use your Evmos stables in Kinesis and confirm the MetaMask prompts to add the network and switch the network!

Bridging over Stablecoins:

If you haven’t bridged over stablecoins already, head over to the Bridge Section to take a look of all the bridges we support.

At launch, we will only support Celer and Nomad bridges, but will quickly work to integrate with Axelar and Gravity as soon as the governance proposal that converts IBC assets into ERC20s is passed!

Choose the bridge you’re most comfortable with using and click the respective links! Guides on how to bridge over assets are also available at https://docs.kinesislabs.co!

Swapping Bridged FRAX for Canonical FRAX:

If you plan on providing liquidity for Axelar, Celer, or Nomad, please notice that the pools are supporting canonical FRAX. This means that you must swap your bridged FRAX for canonical FRAX on the Frax website.

Go to: https://app.frax.finance/crosschain#evmos and being swapping your bridged FRAX! Select the ce/madFRAX you own and swap it for canonical FRAX on their website!

If you’re having some trouble, try switching to Evmos network on your MetaMask first and reload the page.

Swapping Stablecoins:

Head over to https://app.kinesislabs.co/#/ and select the tokens you want to swap. In the From box, select the token you are trying to swap from, and in the To box, select the token you want.

Click Trade and the Review Swap modal should appear. It will show all the details about the trade! Keep in mind that early on, there could be higher than expected slippage. Please pay attention when swapping and to double check the amount of slippage/price action of the swap!

Make sure to confirm and review all the MetaMask pop-ups. If nothing pops up, check your MetaMask extension and try again. There can be some delay on when swapping due to the demand on Evmos at the moment.

Providing Liquidity

Go to https://app.kinesislabs.co/#/liquidity and click Deposit on the pool you want to deposit into.

Enter in the amounts you want to provide liquidity for and click Deposit. If the slippage is too high, your transaction will revert! It is best to deposit at a even ratio at the start, ie 1000 Nomad USDC, 1000 Nomad USDT, 1000 FRAX, otherwise you could suffer from slippage!

The Review Deposit modal will pop up, giving a summary of LP tokens you are receiving, and also your share of the pool. Make sure to click and approve of the MetaMask notifications once you click Confirm Deposit!

Withdrawing Liquidity

Go to https://app.kinesislabs.co/#/liquidity and click Withdraw on the pool you want to withdraw from.

Enter the percentage you want to withdraw, you can also type in the number of stablecoins you want to withdraw below. When you’re ready, hit the withdraw button!

Review your withdrawal transaction and click Confirm Withdaw and approve the associated MetaMask popup!

That’s It!

You’ve now learned how to swap, deposit, and withdraw on Kinesis! If you have any further questions or run into more issues, please feel free to reach out to us on our discord or telegram! Follow us on twitter to also see more updates about Kinesis Labs and our future roadmap!

At launch, we will only support Celer and Nomad bridges, but will quickly work to integrate with Axelar and Gravity as soon as the governance proposal that converts IBC assets into ERC20s is passed!

Frequently Asked Questions

When will liquidity mining incentives come to Kinesis?

Liquidity mining incentives will be enabled as soon as we see that things are working smoothly and the chain is stable. Right now the pools do not have liquidity provider rewards but they will soon have many different types of rewards from our partners!

Other incentives like UST and EVMOS will be coming after the IBC <> ERC20 governance proposal and the EVMOS incentives governance proposal!

Why is my transaction taking so long?

This is a function of the high demand and the cheap fees that Evmos launched with. In order to accomodate all users, especially the airdrop claimants, Evmos intentionally lowered fees. However, with lower fees comes more transactions.

The solution to this is to wait for your transactions or increase the gas price manually in Metamask.

Should I single sided deposit?

Until Kinesis gets a significant amount of liquidity, you should deposit your stablecoins in equal proportions, ie 100 ceUSDC, 100 ceUSDT, 100 FRAX. Single sided deposits work by swapping the stablecoin for the other two stablecoins before depositing. If you deposit a large amount of a single stablecoin, you can suffer slippage and lose money from arbitrageurs.
